MedPark Colla Resorbable Collagen Membrane

Overview

Medpark Colla is a bovine‑derived type I collagen membrane developed for predictable guided bone and tissue regeneration (GBR / GTR). With excellent biocompatibility, natural resorption behavior, and easy handling, it acts as a barrier that prevents soft‑tissue invasion while maintaining a protected space for new bone formation. The membrane’s balanced resorption rate allows stable bone growth during healing—making it ideal for sinus lifts, ridge augmentation, socket preservation, and periodontal regeneration.

Excellent Barrier Function – Effectively blocks epithelial tissue invasion while maintaining bone‑forming space.
Flexible & Easy Handling – Can be used dry or moistened; adapts easily to defect contours.
Naturally Resorbable – Eliminates the need for secondary removal surgery.
High Tensile Strength – Maintains integrity during fixation and suturing.
Dual‑Sided Usability – Both surfaces are identical—no orientation required.
Sterile & Ready to Use – Individually packaged, gamma‑sterilized, single‑use product.

Technical Specification

Intended Use

Designed to cover and stabilize graft material, Colla acts as a resorbable barrier preventing soft‑tissue ingrowth and maintaining space for new bone formation.
Typical indications:

  • Periodontal / intrabony defects
  • Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR)
  • Ridge augmentation
  • Sinus lift procedures
  • Extraction socket preservation

Preoperative Preparation (Brief)

  • Deliver sterile, double‑packed membrane to the operating room.
  • Do not use if outer or inner package is opened or damaged.
  • Confirm correct size before surgery.
  • Use only in a sterile field with sterilized instruments.

Directions for Use (Summary)

  1. Reflect a mucoperiosteal flap to expose the defect.
  2. Remove all granulation and inflammatory tissue.
  3. Trim Colla to cover the defect at least 2 mm beyond its margins.
  4. Moisten if desired for flexibility.
  5. Place over the grafted site and gently adapt to bone contours.
  6. Ensure overlap ≥ 2 mm to prevent soft‑tissue invasion.
  7. Secure flap using non‑resorbable sutures; ensure complete closure.

Storage & Expiration

  • Store at 1–30 °C in a dry, shaded place.
  • Expiration period: 3 years from manufacturing date.
  • Do not reuse or re‑sterilize after opening.

Precautions (Short Format)

  • Single‑use only – Never reuse or re‑sterilize.
  • Use only for GBR/GTR by qualified oral surgeons or dentists.
  • Avoid over‑bending or trimming to maintain membrane integrity.
  • Do not use in patients allergic to bovine collagen.
  • Contraindicated for uncontrolled diabetics, heavy smokers, or alcoholics.
  • Possible side effects: local swelling, inflammation, infection, or rare collagen sensitivity.

FAQ's

Yes, Colla has identical front and back surfaces and does not require orientation.

Typically between 3–6 months, depending on the patient’s healing rate and graft volume.

Yes, it can be trimmed with sterile scissors. Cut at least 2 mm larger than the defect to ensure complete coverage.

It is safe for most patients but should not be used in those with known collagen allergies or contraindicated systemic conditions.
